Leo Jordaan was one of the most talented cartoonists of the 20th century. He aimed his arrows at whatever was the topic of the day and his skilful hand usually added a strong dose of humour. Many of his drawings deal with international politics and he was never tired of pointing at the often ridiculous behaviour of some statesmen. However, when he was deeply touched by suffering his style would become downhearted.
