Intentionally taking someone's life has happened since times immemorial. For instance, in the Bible book of Genesis we can read how Cain kills his brother Abel out of jealousy. One of the most notorious murders in Dutch history is the killing of William of Orange by Balthasar Gerards in 1584. The murder of Pim Fortuyn in 2002 also has become part of our collective memory.
These and thousands of other images can be found in the collection.
