In the album 'Spieghel ofte afbeeldinghe der Nederlandtsche Geschiedenissen' from 1613, Willem Luytsz van Kittensteyn gathered 570 prints and drawings, from which he felt that they gave an accurate image of his time. The album mainly shows the Eighty Years' War. In addition, the album shows distant areas such as Nova Zembla, South America and Indonesia, with the help of maps. Van Kittensteyn also added images of everyday life, such as agriculture and fishing in Holland.
These and thousands of other images can be found in the collection.
