On 20 September 1839, the first railway line was opened in the Netherlands. Since then, the train has become one of the most widely used means of transport in the Netherlands, for both commuters and tourists. Travelling by train is not always without problems: delays, leaves on the railway and derailments cause quite a few problems. Nevertheless, many people frequently wonder "Where would we be without the train?".
These and thousands of other images can be found in the collection.
